Welcome to the Department of Periodontics and Community Dental Sciences, a department that serves two major dental specialties: "Periodontics" and "Dental Public Health".

About the Department

The Department of Periodontics and Community Dental Sciences is one of the academic departments at the College of Dentistry, specializing in teaching courses on the treatment and surgery of periodontal diseases, dental implant surgery, and community dentistry courses. The department contributes to teaching undergraduate curriculum courses from early stages and postgraduate programs including Master's, Doctorate, Fellowship, and Saudi Board in the specialty.

The department's periodontics courses focus on learning the fundamental principles of periodontal diseases and the classical and modern scientific methods for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. These courses also include "Dental Implantology" and optimal methods for providing comprehensive patient care using the latest technologies.

Faculty members conduct advanced scientific research targeting contemporary problems in oral health and periodontal tissues or community health issues, through innovative scientific methods that contribute to producing new knowledge to guide a healthy and aware community.
